I polled people in my Instagram Stories, Obvi, and SOOOO many already have hesitation and reservations about using LinkedIn Stories.

And so thanks to Instagram Stories, I know what you may be already thinking …

“Another platform for me to learn.”

“I do not have time for this”

“Like, does Linkedin even really need this?” (* insert eye roll*)

What I have learnt from my years in digital marketing is that early adaptors win!!! So if you are already doing the damn thing on Instagram and Facebook Stories, you will win on Linkedin Stories.

And if you are not doing any of these… keep reading.

You may be interested in creating a stronger, more personable dialogue with your audience aka the gatekeepers… Ex HR, people and Ops leaders, board members, team Leads, manages, experts, etc

GAME CHANGER #1

You will no longer need to copy what everyone else is doing on Linkedin like:

  • Writing a long-form article
  • Doing Live Video
  • Sharing content that is already being shared

It would help if you were doing this. BUT… Let’s BE HONEST. Many are not doing this.

Not everyone is a content creator; you may just be wanting more exposure as a business, brand, company or agency. This is great for those who do not have the time to create full content on their business and brands.

THE #1 REASON YOU NEED TO USE LINEDKIN STORIES IS TO NETWORK IN REAL TIME

Since IRL ( in real life) networking is not really a thing right now, LinkedIn stories will do that for you. You can now see who is watching your LinkedIn stories content and build a better relationship and start conversations based on stories instead of sending those awkward cold emails.

GAMECHANGER #2

You get to talk and show up as YOU ARE! This is huge if you want to go from B2C to B2B. Linkedin Stories has the potential to be what Instagram is for us, who are B2C.

7 ways to use Linkedin Stories:

  1. Showcase physical products
  2. Share your experiential events and productions.
  3. Target working with corporate + medium-sized businesses.
  4. Create a personal brand as an expert speaker or thought leader
  5. Share FAQs + Corporate Q+As
  6. Share and showcase your corporate culture.
  7. Share social proof and testimonials.

Introducing Stories makes sense for LinkedIn.

They have leant from other social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram because Stories are how the next generation of social media users communicate.

We will baby boomers, generation X, millennials and the first of generation Z all in the job market and on LinkedIn. We can now learn from other social media. Instagram’s seen an 80 percent increase in the time users spend watching videos receive twice the engagement on it.

GAMECHANGER #3

LinkedIn is joining the Stories game looking to capitalize on getting more eyeballs on your stuff…

Hello to engagement

Hello to new leads and prospects

Hello to authentic conversations

Hello to getting the attention of meeting my dream company online

….all by offering professionals a way to create these short-form videos that are entertaining, informative, and are increasing in use.

LinkedIn Stories will be another channel to demonstrate your personal brand’s or business’ workplace culture, creativity and authenticity in a way that’ll build and nurture your professional relationships authentically!

I do not know about you, but I hate awkwardly messaging people, not knowing any common interest. Linkedin Stories will bridge this gap!
